Privacy Policy

The short version: Both Awake does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address or location. Here is the detail.

What stays on your device

The cities and waking hours you choose are saved in your own browser (local storage) so they are there next time. They are not sent to us. Your browser's time zone is used to suggest a starting city, and this also happens on your device. You can clear this at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

Share links

If you use Share, the cities and hours go into the link. Anyone you send the link to, and anyone the link is forwarded to, can see them. Please do not share a link if you would not want those details seen.

Hosting and server logs

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare and our hosting handle technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site, keep it secure and block abuse. We do not use this to identify you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Fonts

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch them, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. See Google's privacy policy.

If you email us

If you write to hello@bothawake.com, we receive your email address and whatever you send. We use it only to reply, and do not add you to any list or share it.

Advertising and analytics (not active yet)

Both Awake is free and may in future show advertising, for example through Google AdSense, and may use visitor statistics to see which pages are useful. If that happens, the companies involved may use cookies or similar technology to show ads, measure them and, where you allow it, personalise them. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first. This page will be updated before any of that is switched on. You can already limit ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com and control cookies in your browser.

Children

Both Awake is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

We hold almost no personal information, but if you have written to us and want your emails deleted, or have a question about this policy, email hello@bothawake.com. Both Awake is run from New Zealand and follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you live elsewhere, such as the UK, EU or California, you may have additional rights, and we will respect them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
