Both Awake

About

About Both Awake

Both Awake helps people in different time zones find a time that works for everyone. Most time zone tools assume a standard nine-to-five. Calls with family and friends, community groups, remote teams, clients and colleagues on the other side of the world rarely fit one, so Both Awake lets each person set the hours they are usually awake or working, then ranks the shared windows by how comfortable they are.

Who makes it

Both Awake is made and run by an independent developer in New Zealand who regularly arranges calls across time zones. It started with family calls between New Zealand, Africa and the rest of the world, and it works just as well for teams, clients and anyone who has ever worked out "is it too late to ring them?" in their head.

How it works

The city-to-city pages, such as time differences between two cities, are generated from the same calculations, so the facts on them (the gap through the year, clock-change dates and best calling windows) match what the planner shows.

Good to know

Both Awake is free to use and does not need an account. It is supported by advertising that may be added in future. For an important meeting, such as a flight, interview or legal appointment, please double-check the time with the other person. Governments sometimes change daylight saving rules at short notice, and a device with out-of-date software may not know.
